This is exactly what you will learn in the Bushcraft optional training - a one-day intensive course focused on a specific primitive skill. The classes are held in a small group with personal attention and practical training.

The course is held in a picturesque part of the Stara Planina Mountains near Tryavna - amidst nature, regardless of the conditions (snow, rain or heat). This is an opportunity to experience the authentic bushcraft experience and learn a skill of your choice:

how to prepare and light a fire using primitive methods and tools

• how to build a primitive shelter
• how to create useful tools such as spears, bows, arrows and fishing tackle
• how to create traps and snares to capture food in the wild (no actual hunting – just practice)
• how to create pottery and other vessels using clay and natural materials
• how to cook using primitive methods on an open fire, how to cook in a pit or smoke meat for long-term preservation
• how to process wood using hand and primitive tools
• how to recognize edible plants and collect various assets from nature

You will be guided through this experience by qualified instructor Ilko Tsanev, a renowned bushcraft expert with over a decade of hands-on experience in some of the harshest places on the planet. His adventures include sailing 2,700 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean, navigating solo through the Amazon rainforest, and leading expeditions into the wilderness of South America, Asia, and Africa. These are challenges that test his skills in conditions few would dare to encounter. He holds advanced certifications and has trained personally with Major Conrad Allen, a SERE specialist.

In addition to his formal training, Ilko has lived among indigenous cultures, learning ancient bushcraft techniques passed down through generations, deepening his respect for the unpredictable nature and the need for adaptability to survive in it.

The service includes:

Additional information:

• The duration of the service is 8 hours.
• You can choose one of the following courses: starting a fire, building a shelter, making tools, creating traps and snares for catching food, creating vessels from natural materials, cooking in nature, processing wood, recognizing edible plants and collecting natural assets.
• The courses are held according to the schedule and start at 9:00 AM.
• You will receive a detailed list of the necessary equipment before the course, but you should bring with you at least: a waterproof jacket and trousers (in addition to standard tourist clothing), in cold weather - warm clothes, socks, hats and gloves, a knife - fixed blade, suitable for bushcraft, a cup or water bottle that can be placed on a fire (aluminum), a suitable backpack.
• The service is held from March 1 to December 20.
• Minimum age for participation is 6 years with an accompanying person (guardian or parent) who also participates.
• Minimum number of participants in the experience - 1, maximum - 10 people.
• You will find a reservation link on the back of the certificate - it will redirect you to the available dates for the selected course. After choosing a date, you will receive a Participant's Handbook by email, in which you will learn everything related to equipment, participation address and registration link.
• Advance reservation is required at least 4 days in advance.
• The certificate is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
• In case you are unable to use the voucher while the conditions allow, you can contact us and choose another service within the validity period.
