Culinary workshop for making a pie in Rajdavitsa

Culinary workshop for making a pie in Rajdavitsa from Makaroon.bg

Boza and banitsa are two of the most loved and typical culinary products in the country. Boza is a fermented drink that holds a special place in the hearts of people who know its unique taste. Real boza, as our grandparents drank it, had a sharp taste. It is the sweet and sour taste of boza, the result of fermentation, that makes it one of the most loved drinks in the Balkans.

Prepare a traditional Radjavica pie with boza according to old technology

During the event, you will have the opportunity to learn about the special technology used to prepare boza in Rajdavitsa. In the small ethnographic complex, local crafts and customs from the region are presented. The culinary workshop also takes place there. A local woman will prepare the village pie with you. You will participate in every stage of the preparation – mixing the dough, rolling out the crusts, filling the filling. The finale, of course, is baking the pie in an old country wood-fired oven.

The visit to the neighboring house is extremely interesting. There is an authentic bozajinica, where you will be introduced to the old technology of making rusty boza.

In a globalized world where there is an imposition of foreign and fast food, traditional dishes are what tell a story, preserve traditional flavors and ingredients. Traditional feasts feed the soul and preserve our cultural identity.
