Surprise your friends or colleagues with an idea for an unforgettable experience in the "Villa Melnik" wine cellar: become part of the team and harvest grapes for a day!
The harvest takes place in the period from mid-August to the beginning of October. The days for grape harvest are determined by the weather conditions and the characteristics of the grapes.
Our friends from "Villa Melnik" will be waiting for you at the winery in the village of Khrsovo and will take you to the vineyards of the cellar. Of course, on site you will also receive the necessary equipment and instructions to get involved in the grape harvest.
We start with a pleasant breakfast among the vineyards, while the "Villa Melnik" team will tell you interesting facts about the different varieties of grapes, the characteristics of the soil, the climate and the history of winemaking in Melnik.
Field activity continues until midday at the latest, when the sun is high and temperatures rise.
The day continues with a return to the winery, a tour of the cellar and a wine lesson. This is followed by a tasting of five selected wines from the cellar, garnished with special bites, freshly picked grapes and water.
The service includes:
- Vine brigade for 10 people in the wine cellar "Villa Melnik"
- Participation in the grape harvest and breakfast among the vineyards
- Talk about soil and climate features (walk in the vineyards); history of winemaking in the Melnik region, local varieties.
- Walk and Talk at the Winery "On the Way of Wine"
- Wine Flavors Lesson
- Tasting of 5 wines - white, rose, red. The tasting includes 5 top wines from Bulgarian and international varieties, including a special wine from the rare local varieties grown in the vineyards of Villa Melnik. The tasting includes water, nibbles, freshly picked dessert grapes from the own massifs.
More information:
- The harvest takes place in the period August - October
- After requesting participation by phone, you will also arrange the day on which you will participate in the grape harvest
- The event lasts about 3-4 hours, with a start time around 09:00.
- We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and closed shoes, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water. Field temperatures are quite high
- The certificate is valid until 31.10.2024.
